GWERU-based musician, Mai Patai of the Mazambara fame, is back with a well-knit six-track album titled Watch and Pray, which was recorded at Makumbe Productions.

Speaking to H-Metro, the award-winning gospel diva said the album, which was unveiled through an online launch on Radio Zimbabwe and Flash TV, will also be launched through a live show at a date to be advised.

“We are hugely confident of this music project, which we officially launched on radio and we have plans to have a physical launch concert here in Harare, with support from fellow gospel musicians.

“It feels good to be back with a new project and we thank our fans and all music stakeholders for the support and patience.

“We believe the new music will minister to many,” she said.

Mai Patai told H-Metro the album has a message of encouragement for everyone regardless of their situation.

“Songs on the album include Ndinonyengetera, Musandisiye, Handikundikane, Chii Chandingatye, Settle my Matter and Mwanakomana.

“They are all potential hits and they carry a special message for all listeners regardless of their situation.

“We want to inspire and empower people through this album,” Mai Patai said.

Three of the songs on the album already have accompanying videos, which will soon be unleashed onto the market, to support and unpack the message they carry.

“The opening song, Ndinonyengetera, is a call to God to fight our battles and safeguard us from the enemy while Musandisiye is a plea to God for protection because without His Mercy it will all be failure.

“On Settle My Matter, I am calling on the Lord’s intervention in all of life’s challenges and troubles given that the Devil is the thief of happiness.

“Handikundikane is a song of encouragement that, no matter the challenges or setbacks, victory is guaranteed through Christ, while Chii Chandingatye is an assurance that if Christ is for us, nothing can be against us.

“Mwanakomana is a Thanksgiving song, thanking God for victory against all odds,” said Mai Patai.

The consistent and hardworking musician, who has been commended for her exemplary character, hailed the support received from music stakeholders and corporates.

“Mai Patai music is a professional, well-managed and highly-consistent brand which has got a lot to offer on the local music scene.

“We are encouraged by the show of support from music stakeholders as well as the corporate partners.

“Various brands have supported us and indicated intentions to work with us and we are very grateful for that. The future is very bright,” she said.

“I never stopped producing music. I however left the country together with my husband at one stage but I never stopped composing or took a break from music.

“There are so many songs waiting to be recorded in studio and I promise our fans more quality music productions. We are here to stay,” she said.
