Man fined $10k for bashing dad

A HARARE man has been fined $10 000 for assaulting his father following a misunderstanding.

Trust Chatizha, 26, pleaded guilty when he appeared before a Harare magistrate.

He assaulted his biological father, Denford Chatizha.

“Your Worship, I do not deny beating up my father.

“It happened after he had confronted me for entering his bedroom.

“However, I do not know how I was supposed to avoid his bedroom since foodstuffs are kept there,” he said.

Despite him being warned not to enter the complainant’s bedroom, the accused forcefully gained entrance.

After he was confronted by his father, he then assaulted him.
