A HARARE woman has approached the Harare Civil Court seeking protection against her husband, whom she accused of bashing her on allegations of infidelity.

Vimbai Kufakwedeke alleged that her husband, Enerst Munyora, assaulted her using dangerous objects.

“He stabbed me with a knife and hit me with a steel bar, claiming that l have a boyfriend and that I sleep with my sister’s husband,” she said.

Kufakwedeke said she ran to her neighbours for help after her husband had threatened to kill her.

She pointed out that she was loyal to her husband and had never had an affair and that her husband was only trying to ruin her relationship with her sister.

Kufakwedeke said she was being abused for allegations she knows nothing about. She said that her husband was falsely accusing her because he knows that he is failing to satisfy her.

“When he started his accusations, he spread the news in the neighbourhood, claiming that I am dating my sister’s husband, and it affected me emotionally since everyone sees me as a prostitute,” Kufakwedeke said.

In response, Munyora denied the allegations levelled against him and said he had evidence of messages which his wife was sending to her sister’s husband.

He added that he wanted to divorce her due to infidelity.

Munyora revealed that he never stabbed her, but he reprimanded her and asked why she was not satisfied with one man to the extent of indulging in sexual relations with her sister’s husband.

“What she did to her sister is betrayal, l no longer trust her anymore. I know she has more than one boyfriend,” said Munyora.

Munyora also claimed that he deserves to know his wife’s whereabouts as the head of the family.

However, the court granted the order in favour of Kufakwedeke.
