Man of God in attempt to rape congregant

THE leader of a prominent Bulawayo Pentecostal church has been singled out in an attempted rape allegation.

Pastor Max Mhlolo (ABOVE) ofA� Word Centered Generation is said to have tried using forceA� on a young female congregant whose family trusted him. When this allegedly happened, the teenage girl was at his house.

a�?He wanted to rape the teenager taking advantage of that he had direct interaction with her. She fled that is how she survived,a�? said a source.

The Pastor once beat up the girla��s now ex- boyfriend for reasons only known to him.

B-Metro spoke to the ex-boyfriend who has since left the church and he confirmed that he was once beaten by Pastor Mhlolo for dating the teenager.

a�?He beat me up when I was dating her. He did not give reasons but I suspect that he didna��t want anyone near her,a�? said the ex boyfriend.

Pastor Mhlolo does not deny that he beat the ex-boyfriend or even that he has been accused of attempting to rape the girl.

a�?Ita��s true I once beat him up but that is not really the issue here. Yes, I have been summoned by the family over attempted rape allegations. I cana��t say much because the matter is being handled by elders in the family,a�? Pastor Mhlolo said.

B-Metro then received a call from one of the teenagera��s aunts. She said the family was troubled by that the pastor was somewhat a relative, as such, they would deal with him accordingly.

a�?We sat down as a family after realising that the matter was well known in church (Word Centered Generation).A� Ita��s up to you to take it further or not but on our side as a family we have dealt with it,a�? she said.

Mhlolo nor the family were willing to reveal what was concluded.
