Maphisa man sentenced to 15 years for raping 12-year-old sister

A 28-YEAR-OLD man from Matobo District, Maphisa in Matabeleland, has been arraigned before the Gwanda Magistrate Court, facing charges of sexually assaulting his 12-year-old biological sister.
It is reported that on 24 December 2024, the convicted and the victim were sharing a room when the accused allegedly woke and instructed the young victim to undress, and he met with a refusal.
He latter forcibly removed her clothes and raped her once, and also on January 28 2025 the accused X raped the minor again.
The sex attack came to light when the victim confided in a neighbour, who subsequently alerted the neighbourhood watch, who laid a trap and caught the suspect in a compromising position with his sister.
They reported to the police, resulting in the offender’s arrest.
The accused was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
