The 15-year-old Tukssport Academy student promised to do his best and make an impact playing in his second international tournament.
Maphosa was part of the juniors who featured in this year’s Zone VI competition in Kenya.
“I was practising a lot ahead of the tournament and I am confident that I can play well in the event,” Maphosa said.
“The preparations went on well but I had difficulties last week but that is how golf is. Hopefully, I will do well as I look forward to the event to learn more things and meet new people,” he said.
“I had a good year so far since I was monitoring my diet and increased my practice hours.”
