CONTEMPORARY jazz outfit, Mark Sounds is determined to raise Manicaland’s flag high when they represent the province at this year’s edition of Chibuku Road to Fame national finals slated for the Glamis Arena in Harare tomorrow (Saturday). The Dangamvura-based group will be aiming to recreate last year’s fairytale story where Mutare-based outfit Talent Falls, against all odds, emerged second in the national finals. Mark Sounds will battle it out with other provincial finalists which are Adequate Sounds (Harare), Those Guys (Midlands), African (Mashonaland East), Makokoba Rumba Sounds (Bulawayo), Grade 2D (Mashonaland West), Wezhira (Masvingo) and Motto Super Sounds (Matabeleland South).
In an interview, bass guitarist and band leader, Jonas Musavaya said they were ready to pull a shocker and bring the crown to the eastern border city.
“We are ready for the contest. The morale in the camp is high and we are raring to go.” said Musavaya.
