Marksman Chintuli eyes more success

MANICA Diamonds star man, Nyasha Chintuli, says the first half of the season couldn’t have been better and is confident they will have a good run in the final round.

The forward says he wants to add more goals to his tally and wants to win the league title with his club.

He believes the input from his coach, Johannes Nhumwa, has made him a better player.

“The first half of the season was great, I can say,” he told H-Metro.

“I started so well, scoring goals, and I am feeling great and confident about it going into the next round of fixtures.

“I am expecting to add a lot of goals.

“By the end of the season, I want to be the top goalscorer. I have the confidence, right now I am tied up with the top goalscorers so why not at the end of the season?

“I will work hard for it.”

He added:

“It’s not just about me scoring goals for myself, the team has to be the biggest benefactor of my exploits.

“I would want the team to be in contention for the title.

“We have to be on top again.

“My coach here has been influential in my performances, it has been a bit different from the past, as each team has its own culture.

“I feel my coach has made me improve my work rate.”

Chintuli promised their fans an exciting second half of the season.

“We are going to give a good run and I feel the best is yet to come.

“People should know that these were just highlights of what we are going to do.

“Trophies are going to come our way and, definitely, the Golden Boot is up for grabs as well.

“The fans’ support is appreciated and hope they will continue doing so.”

He paid special tribute to some of his teammates.

“Pasca Manhanga and Lawrence Masibhera are the players I am enjoying playing around the most at Manica, maybe, because they are my close friends and they understand me a lot.

“I would want also to single out Xolisani Moyo, Talent Chamboko and Liberty Chakoroma.”
