HARARE City coach Bigboy Mawiwi has wished winger Silas Songani all the best after his move to Denmark early this week.
The gaffer said it is inspiring to other players when they can see their fellow star player move to ply his trade in Europe after a good season.
“I am very happy for Songani and it was through hard work and discipline that he managed to make the great step,” Mawiwi said.
Mawiwi also believes that the gap left by the midfielder will be replaced as they work as a team and have several other players who can easily fill the void.

“It is a drawback to lose someone of Songani’s calibre but we believe in teamwork so we have other good replacements who can fit in well in that position.

“The departure (of Songani) may give chance to others to showcase their talent and we managed to do well in some games when he was out injured last season so we have depth,” Mawiwi added.

Songani left for Denmark after signing for that country’s top-flight side Sonderjyske who handed him a two-and-a-half-year contract after impressing during trials. Sonderjyske play in top tier of Danish football, the Danish Superliga, and former Zimbabwean international Quincy Antipas once turned out for them.

They are struggling though and are currently bottom of the 12-team league.
Mawiwi also said they are yet to sign any new player but they will need to add some strikers mainly as it was their major setback last season.
