MINERVA Risk Advisors have once again committed to bankroll the Zimbabwe Chess Federation.
The Zimbabwe Open Chess Championship has now been renamed the Minerva Risk Advisors Open.It will be the fifth year that Minerva will be promoting chess and other sporting disciplines in Zimbabwe.
ZCF spokesperson, Agab Dozva, confirmed that Minerva has won the naming rights for the tournament to be held from August 20 to 24 in Harare.
“We are grateful for Minerva’s unwavering support and commitment to Zimbabwean chess.
“Their sponsorship has significantly contributed to the growth and development of our sport and we look forward to another successful tournament.
“The open and ladies section will be housed at Joina City while the development section under-16 will be housed at Dominican Convent school in Harare.
“The Minerva Zimbabwe Open promises to be an exciting event, featuring top players from Zimbabwe and beyond. The tournament will provide a unique opportunity for players to test their skills, learn from each other, and compete for top prizes.
“The sponsorship is a testament to their brand values, which emphasise strategic thinking, innovation, and community development.
“Their commitment to chess and other sporting disciplines in Zimbabwe reflect their dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles and driving social change,” said Dozva.
