MORE than 10 models are tonight (Friday) expected to outshine each other on the romp at the much-awaited Miss 21st Manicaland beauty pageant to be held at Mutare Hall. One of the organisers of the event, Derleen Soma, said all was in place for the contest which is part of President Mugabe’s 92nd birthday celebrations. Successful models from ages 16 – 35 underwent a vigorous screening process which was held at Courtauld Theatre on Saturday

The contest is a brainchild of modeling organisation, A1 Modeling Agency and Zanu PF Manicaland Provincial Youth League. “We are almost ready for the contest. We are expecting a full house from local universities, colleges and schools. We urge people to come in numbers as we celebrate our iconic President Mugabe’s 92nd birthday in style,” said Soma.

She said those willing to be part of the pageant by coming aboard with sponsorship, in cash or kind, were welcome to do so between today (Friday) and Saturday afternoon. Local artistes are expected to add more fun to the event by performing during and after the pageant.

Last year, two beauties, Vimbai Mukorera (19) and Chido Gunda (19) represented Manicaland province in the Miss 21st national beauty pageant that was held in Victoria Falls.
