Mr Ronaldo Meets Nakamba

EVERY six-year-old kid in Zimbabwe must be wishing he was in the shoes of Mr Ronaldo.

The Mbare boy, whose name is Ngedwa Mpako, has become something of a social media sensation, is now set to meet Warriors star, Marvelous Nakamba, today.

He revealed Nakamba was his best local player.

“Through Social Media, we have come across this video of this vibrant young lad who speaks well of Mr Nakamba,” the Aston Villa midfielder’s camp said.

“We reckon it would be great for him to meet Nakamba

“Please help us get an invitation to him to attend our launch event in Harare tomorrow (today) so he can meet Marve.”

It has been an amazing few weeks for the boy known as Mr Ronaldo because of his love for the Manchester United star.

He has already trained with the Real Betis Academy in Harare.

Academy chief, Gerald Sibanda, said Mpako has the ability to play football.

“Real Betis Academy is an important stakeholder of Zimbabwe Youth Football and any positive football matters in the community are of interest to us.

“The society has embraced the young boy and, as a football community, we had to play our part to give the player an opportunity to grow his football knowledge, talent and life skills, under our programme.

“The boy is only six-years-old, very young.

“At this age, what we look at is the interest to play football and no doubt he has ability for his age group, our nursery soccer school,” he said.

He added:

“We have communicated this to his guardians that we are happy to have the boy coming down to our nursery school programme and create pathways for him to develop with us.

“We will also be engaging with his team in Mbare, assisting them with a series of technical and talent identification camps.

“So, I am happy to communicate that we will have a programme for the community of Mbare, too, thanks to the positive support we have received from the public and football community as a whole.

“Betis is coming to Mbare.”
