MARSHALL Munetsi says he is grateful to God for the gift of life.

The Stade Reims midfielder turned 26 yesterday.

“I just want to thank God for another year added. I’m grateful for the love and kindness He has shown me through all the tears of my life.

“It’s a great day for me and I’ve been receiving some acts of love from many people.

“I’m so overwhelmed and I just want to thank everyone who has been there for me and has wished me well.

“I’m not doing much but just spending the day with my loved ones,” he said.

Munetsi traveled back to France last week and he says he is ready for the new season.

“I’m so ready and hyped up for the coming season.

“We haven’t started training yet but have been doing some individual training, we start the team medicals on Friday.

“I’m excited and looking forward to the new season. I just want to do better than I did last season and help my team in any way I can.

“Last season was good and I expect this season to be better than the last.

“The team believes in me and I just want to do as much as I can not to disappoint them and help them achieve their targets.”

Munetsi signed a contract extension with French Ligue 1 side until 2026.

The Zimbabwean midfielder’s contract was set to expire in 2024, after joining the club from Orlando Pirates, in 2019.

The statement from the club stated that the midfielder’s contract renewal was part of the club’s future plans.

Munetsi impressed in his first two seasons.
