Mutare council to roll out door-to-door vaccination

THE City of Mutare will on Monday start rolling out a door-to-door Covid-19 vaccination exercise as part of efforts to combat the pandemic and increase herd immunity.

 

The programme is targeting all residents eligible to receive the jabs and will begin in Dangamvura before being spread to other areas of the city.

 

In a statement today, the local authority said the first and second doses are available as well as the booster shots.

 

“City of Mutare would like to inform residents and stakeholders that with effect from Monday February 14, 2022 Council will roll out door-to-door vaccination. The citywide programme targets all eligible residents. First, second and third booster doses will be available,” reads the statement.

 

Mutare City Council urged residents to co-operate.

 

Adds the statement adds: “Co-operating in numbers is important for the city to attain herd immunity. The exercise will start with Dangamvura, Gimboki and Pegasus areas and will move to other suburbs once these are exhausted.”
