HOW MWOS will deal with the threat posed by Harare clubs in the capital, in the second half of the Castle Lager Premiership campaign, is likely to determine their fate in the championship race.

Lloyd Mutasa’s men have not played in the capital since they became the last club to join the top-flight league at the beginning of the year.

They hosted four of the clubs from the capital – Dynamos, CAPS United, Scottland and Yadah – in the first half of the campaign.

Only Herentals were scheduled to host MWOS in the capital but they opted to use Wadzanai in Shamva as their home ground for that match.

In sharp contrast, leaders Simba Bhora have played four of these five clubs Dynamos, CAPS United, Scottland and Yadah in Harare, while they hosted Herentals in Shamva.

Mutasa told Zimpapers Sport that he would have loved to let the residents in Harare have a feel of the wave brought by his men.

Only the football gods can answer how it was possible for MWOS to play all their first 17 games outside the capital when Harare is home to five teams.

This means MWOS will visit the capital four times after the break.

MWOS’ first assignment in the capital will be against Yadah on Match Day 20 at the Heart Stadium.

MWOS are a point behind Simba Bhora, who have 35 points in 17 games.

“It’s not something to be happy about, Harare is always a good place and I feel some of our players could be appreciated better if we had played some of our matches in the capital,” said Mutasa.

“But there is nothing we can do about it, it is what it is and we are now focusing on our next game against Highlanders.

“We have to respond to our defeat, I have told the boys to accept what happened last week because we are going to get another chance to correct what we did wrong.”

A test of their character awaits them at Barbourfields at the weekend.

This will be Bosso’s first match since the club fired Kelvin Kaindu and promoted his assistant, Try Ncube, to lead the team on an interim basis.

MWOS floored Highlanders in their first game of the campaign at Baobab.
