Online media practitioners play a crucial role in shaping public discourse and promoting the national image, NetOne Head of Communications, Dr Runyararo Mahomva has said.

Speaking at the NetOne Online Media Strategy Building Breakfast Session this morning, Dr Mahomva said the evolving digital media landscape presents an opportunity for closer collaboration between institutions and online publishers.

Dr Mahomva emphasised that NetOne is not imposing a top-down, budget-driven public relations model, but is instead seeking collective input from stakeholders.

“We are soliciting your views as a collective,” he said, adding that the goal is to develop an inclusive strategy informed by practitioners on the ground.

He urged participants to provide strategic recommendations that will guide management and ensure that public relations efforts remain responsive to citizens’ needs.
