NEW: 53-year-old nabbed over copper cables theft

POLICE in Nyanyadzi have arrested a 53-year-old on allegations of stealing electricity equipment in Chimanimani.

In a statement, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of Misheck Masunungure.

“On June 25, 2022, police in Nyanyadzi arrested a wanted person, Misheck Masunungure (53), at a traffic check-point along the Mutare-Masvingo Road.

“The suspect was being sought by the police for cases of theft of copper cables and transformers, which occurred in Chimanimani,” read the statement.
