NEW: Gold dealer loses US$7 000

POLICE in Mutare are looking for two robbers who recently pounced on and assaulted a Chimanimani man before vanishing with US$7 000.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the incident which happened in Machoko Village in Chief Ngorima’s area.

The two, Alfisher and Ozwell Bezha approached an unsuspecting Lewis Ngorima and told him that they were selling gold.

Ngorima, however, discovered that the gold was fake and decided to pull out of the deal.

Alfisher and Ozwell attacked Ngorima who had US$7 000 before vanishing from the scene.

Ngorima sustained a deep cut on the head and was rushed to Mutambara Mission Hospital where he was admitted.
