Littering is significantly contributing to drainage system blockages in Harare, thereby exposing residents to environmental hazards.
In an interview, City of Harare spokesperson Mr Stanley Gama blamed illegal vending for littering in Harare CBD.
“The situation is dire. The vendors are not taking responsibility for their actions, and it’s affecting the entire city,” he said. “We urge the vendors to take responsibility for their actions and to properly dispose of their waste.”
