NEW: Munhumutapa Day is not a public holiday, Government reiterates

THE Government has reiterated that Munhumutapa Day, which is set September 15, is not a public holiday.

Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe indicated that the day “was never declared a holiday”.

“We have not been given that instruction. The day was never declared a holiday; should there be a proposal for the day to be a holiday, normal procedure will be followed. But it is a day set aside to remember the Munhumutapa Day,” said Minister Kazembe.

Businesses and schools will therefore operate as usual, with no interruptions to the working week.
