ZANU PF Manicaland has put in place a substantive top three leadership structure to replace senior cadres recently elevated to the Central Committee (CC), which is the party’s supreme decision-making body.
The new changes were announced at a Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting held at Marymount Teachers’ College yesterday.
A letter from the national political commissar, Dr Mike Bimha which was read at the PCC meeting by the provincial youth chairman, Cde Stanely Sakupwanya on behalf of the secretary for administration, Cde Oliver Mandipaka, announced the appointment of Cde Tawanda Mukodza as the party’s substantive provincial chairman.
He replaces Cde Mike Madiro who was recently elected to the Central Committee.
Cde Mukodza briefly served as Cde Madiro’s deputy.
Provincial War Veterans League chairman, Cde Linda Matatu is now the party’s new vice chairman.
Cde Albert Nyakuedzwa – the Makoni District Coordinating Committee (DCC) chairman is the incoming provincial political commissar.
Cde Nyakuedzwa early this year contested for the provincial chairmanship, but lost to Cde Madiro.
In an interview, Cde Mukodza said a united Manicaland can set a new record of victory in the forthcoming elections.
“The three of us have been given the opportunity to guide and lead the party into 2023. We thank our predecessors and together as one we must move forward with a clear conscience and objective to win the 2023 elections.
“We need to build a strong base to make sure President Mnangagwa and all our contestants in Manicaland win the 2023 elections.Our mission is to prime the party members to work hard and lure new members,” said Cde Mukodza.
