NEW: Player dies during soccer match

A SOCCER match between Woodlot Timbers Football Club and Rusape Town Council ended tragically after a player collapsed and died recently.

 

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Nobert Muzondo confirmed the incident which happened at Vengere Stadium in Rusape.

 

He said Justin Masukume (35) controlled the ball with his chest and dropped it before collapsing.

 

He was rushed to Rusape General Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
