NEW: City to clean water distribution reservoirs

CITY of Mutare is set to clean water distribution reservoirs in Sakubva, Dangamvura and Fern Valley to clear the sludge that had accumulated in some of the tanks and ensure that clean and water safe is distributed.

 

In a notice to the public, the local authority said this will disrupt water distribution in the affected areas and residents and stakeholders will be notified in time before the exercise is carried out.

 

“Notice is hereby given to all residents and stakeholders that city of Mutare will be cleaning its water reservoirs at Nyakamete which supplies the industrial area, Beira Corridor, Natvest and areas around around Mutare Teachers’ College; Sakubva large and water reservoirs which supply the whole of Sakubva area; Dangamvura Area which supplies Area 3 and Fern valley which supplies fern Valley.

 

“The cleaning of the tanks will take place in the above order and residents will be notified two days before the actual date of cleaning. The reservoir cleaning will interrupt water supply and residents may receive water with a brownish colour soon after restoration of water,” read the statement.
