NEW: Uncle killed over axe

A 37-YEAR-OLD Rusape man on Sunday allegedly murdered his uncle who had quizzed him over a missing axe.

The deceased, John Nyabadza (64), was assaulted with a stick all over the body by his nephew, Anopa Michael Nyabadza following an altercation over an axe which the latter had taken without his permission.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Norbert Muzondo, confirmed the incident which happened in Gidhabhi Village in Chief Tandi’s area.

“Anopa had taken the axe without his uncle’s permission resulting in a misunderstanding between the two. Anopa picked a stick and assaulted his uncle all over the body.

 

“John sustained swollen hands, bruises on the head and a cut on the mouth. He became unconscious and was ferried to Rusape General Hospital where he died upon admission,” said Inspector Muzondo.
