PARLIAMENT is conducting a public hearing on the establishment of the State Service Pension Bill and is gathering views from residents in Bulawayo.
The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare is conducting a consultation meeting on how the Bill should be constituted.

The public hearing is mainly attended by pensioners, some of whom have expressed concerns over the living conditions of pensioners.
Some of the pensioners have said their lives have been reduced to that of paupers after serving the Government for the better part of their lives.
The pensioners are also calling for the consistent reviews of their allowances in line with changes in the macroeconomic environment.
