POLICE are hunting for 10 suspects involved in the murder of a 31-year-old man near the National Sports Stadium four months ago.
The incident followed a road-rage incident.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said a scuffle started after one of the suspects threw a packet of maputi towards the car of the victim, Simeon Norman.
Asst Comm Nyathi said on March 9, at around 7pm, Norman (31) was driving a Mercedes-Benz E320 vehicle.
There were three passengers on board and they were travelling along Harare-Bulawayo Road heading to Kuwadzana.
He said Norman got involved in a dispute with the suspects, who were passengers in a truck, which was heading in the same direction.
“One of the suspects threw some maputi towards the victim’s vehicle,” said Asst Comm Nyathi.
“The 10 suspects then disembarked from the truck and attacked the victim before fleeing from the scene.
“The victim died on his way to hospital.”
Asst Comm Nyathi also discouraged mob justice after a man was attacked and killed for stabbing a resident he was attempting to steal from in Kuwadzana.
“Police in Harare are investigating a murder case in which the victim, only identified as Tinashe Tambara, of no fixed abode, died on admission at Sally Mugabe Hospital after he was attacked by a mob in Kuwadzana,” he said.
“The victim had stabbed a Kuwadzana resident with a pocket knife on the armpit after he was confronted for attempting to steal from the resident’s house.
“Anyone with information can contact any nearest police station.”
