President Mnangagwa has reassured the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) of continued Government support to fulfil its constitutional mandate.
Speaking at a pass-out parade of more than 1 600 correctional officers at Ntabazinduna Training School, President Mnangagwa said the prison services are a vital cog in the security sector, therefore Government won’t tire of supporting the institution.

He said it should be on high alert in the execution of the national mandate.
“Government will render support to ZPCS to fulfil its constitutional mandate of protecting the nation through human incarceration and rehabilitation,” said President Mnangagwa.
He told recruits that the new career path demands unwavering commitment, and their behaviour should not be tarnished by selfish interests.

He said the Government will not tolerate untoward behaviour and that it has zero tolerance for corruption.
President Mnangagwa said the country is facing challenges of drugs and substance abuse, especially among the youth including members of the security sector.
He said any member of ZPCS caught on the wrong side of the law will face the full wrath of the law.
He called the recruits to reject illicit activities and commit to national building.
President Mnangagwa congratulated the recruits on completing the course.
