SOMETIMES real-life events can often be more bizarre and unbelievable than the stories found in novels or movies.
In a shocking twist of events, two inmates at Khami Maximum Prison on the outskirts of Bulawayo allegedly confessed to having consensual anal sex. Yes, you read that right. They allegedly agreed to engage in the unusual act until one of them suffered bruises on his rear, leading him to reveal the matter to the prison officers.
The inmate with the injuries was subsequently sent to the prison hospital for medical attention. This stranger-than-fiction episode came to light when the two inmates, Godwin Dlodlo (53) and Gilbert Shonhai (age not given), appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Vakai Douglas Chikwekwe facing a charge of sodomy as defined in Section 73 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23.
They both pleaded not guilty and were remanded in custody to 5 November 2024.
Allegations are that on 8 June 2024 at Khami Maximum Prison the two accused persons had consensual anal sexual intercourse.
The matter came to light when Shonhai started experiencing pain on his back leading him to allegedly disclose that he had engaged in anal sex with Dlodlo. He was referred for medical attention and a report will be produced in court as evidence.
