IN our line of duty, we cover a lot of weird stories.
Like our main story yesterday about a woman who snatched her daughter’s husband, while she was pregnant, before going on to build a love nest with her son-in-law in their rural area.
This stunning mother and daughter feud came to light when it spilled into the Harare Civil Court.
Ethel Mupoperi is the woman who snatched the husband of her daughter.
To make it even worse, her daughter Munyaradzi was pregnant when Ethel staged her bedroom coup.
Munyaradzi is her only child.
In court, Munyaradzi was adamant and showed both the hurt and hate which now fills her soul when she said she will never forgive her mother for snatching her man.
She also revealed that when her husband left her, she started building on a stand, which her mother was now claiming ownership of.
Munyaradzi said since her mother snatched her husband, they were no co-wives.
This is quite embarrassing to say the least.
That the mother did not even deny these sensational claims shows everything wrong about what she did when she snatched her daughter’s husband.
It shows her poor state of mind because someone who is in her right senses cannot sink so low to think there is nothing wrong with taking her daughter’s husband and converting him into her own husband.
Mothers are expected to provide counsel to their daughters because they faced the same challenges, which their daughters face, when they were married.
They are supposed to use that experience to help their daughters deal with everything which confronts them in their marriage.
But, this mother-from-hell will not be able to do that because she is the one who really needs counselling.
It’s shocking to even believe this story and if it had not spilled into court it’s very likely that many of our readers would have struggled to believe it.
The mother does not see any shame in her actions and that really concerns us.
She gives an impression that what she did is normal when in reality this is an abomination.
She even tried to justify why she did all this.
What will she tell her grandchild?
Won’t she find any shame in telling him or her that when he or she was still in his or her mother’s womb, she started having an affair with the father and they settled in as husband and wife?
What a shame!
It’s sad that the court proceedings did not also bring the man at the centre of this love triangle to testify.
We wanted to see him, and make sure that the public also sees his face, because we feel there is also something wrong with him.
Real men do not do what he has done.
They don’t abandon their pregnant wives to go and stay with their mother-in-law and start a romantic relationship.
This is as absurd as it gets.
He should also be ashamed of his foolish actions.
