RBZ EMPLOYEE LOSES CASH, PHONE TO THIEVES AT CITY NIGHTCLUB

A RESERVE Bank of Zimbabwe employee lost an undisclosed amount of cash, a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone and other valuables when thieves broke into his car which was parked outside a nightclub in the Harare CBD.

The incident happened on Friday night.

Brenna Bofu, 27, parked his car at around 10pm, closed all windows and locked all doors before entering Big Apple night club in central Harare. When he left the night club he noticed that someone had used an unknown object to force open the front passenger door and gain entry into the car.

He lost his Samsung Galaxy S23 cellphone, brown wallet with national ID car, drivers licence, CBZ debit card, CIMAS medical aid card.

Harare provincial deputy police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa, confirmed the case.

“Police are investigating two cases of theft from cars.

“One of the victims lost a total value of USD$800 in the CBD and nothing was recovered,” said Ass-Insp Mapisa. In another related case, Tinotenda  Basopo, 27, of Budiriro, lost valuables worth US$1 060 after parking his Mercedes Benz C200 at Spar Groombridge Parking bay.

He forgot to lock his vehicle at around 10pm and, when he returned, he found out that someone had stolen his HP laptop and US$260, which was in the glove compartment.
