Robbers steal fertiliser worth over US$6k from farm

UNIDENTIFIED thieves broke into a warehouse at Malewano Farm in Rafingora, Zvimba district around 1 am on Thursday and stole over six tonnes of fertiliser.

The farm owner Mr Nicholas Dube said the thieves attacked his staff including the guard on duty.

“They drove into the warehouse after breaking the lock and made off with five tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate fertiliser and 30 bags of Compound D fertiliser, Both products are from ZFC and are in yellow bags,” he said in a message posted on various Whatsapp groups.

Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kohwera encouraged farmers to be on high alert for thieves targeting farming inputs.

The stolen bags have a market value of over US$6 000.
