THE principal of a college, who is being accused of repeatedly raping a teenage student, appeared in court yesterday.
Onias Makarimai, 25, the principal of Mighty to Serve College, appeared before Harare regional magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa yesterday.
The court heard that in September, Makarimai invited the student, who is aged 16, to his office where he asked her to be his girlfriend and she refused.
Makarimai allegedly locked the door, pulled the student into a built -in cardboard and started caressing her all over her body, including her private parts.
He allegedly stripped off the victim’s clothes and raped her.
She tried to scream for help in vain as Makarimai was playing a radio whose volume was high.
After the rape the student remained in the principal’s office until all the other school students had left.
The student did not tell anyone because she was afraid she could be expelled from school.
Since then the victim would be summoed to the principal’s house where he rapes her on multiple occasions.
Lancelot Mutsokoti appeared for the State.
