SA record label targets Zim talent

Gugulethu Zinyane

A SOUTH AFRICA based record label has vowed to give Zimbabwean artists, and producers, exposure.

Dubbed Apostlekrecords, the stable is run by Kudzai Jaravaza.

In an interview with H-Metro, Jaravaza said:

“Already, we have a producer in Cape Town but we are looking forward to engaging with so many talented producers like DJ Tamuka, Cymplex, Levels, Fantan and Oskid, among others.

“We believe that we can work with these producers on a larger scale as they will help us grow the Zimbabwean entertainment industry internationally.

“The whole idea is to make the Zim entertainment industry to be recognised internationally, just like Nigerian music and movies, so we are willing to work with talented and focused people for major growth.

“We need more marketing strategies from international radio stations, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Ghana as well as DStv Channel O, Trace Africa since this is an international brand.

“Anyone who is young and talented is suitable and we are looking at an age range of 35 and below.

“It is an international brand with international goals of getting artists to reap from their labour.

“That is our main goal.

“So far, we have Poptain and Holy 10, as our biggest priority.

“My managers, Simba Mapfuti and Lewis John, are working flat out to reach out to Poptain management as well as Holly 10’s handlers for collabo.”
