Brother John Ekrann, a representative of the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses urged congregants who followed his public talk via live streaming from Belvedere Assembly Hall in Harare, to safeguard their hearts in the face of problems associated with a depraved world ruled by the old enemy, Satan, symbolized by the serpent, in the Bible.
Before John Ekrann was introduced, the congregants in kingdom halls dotted all over Zimbabwe that had access to the Internet, were treated to Kingdom Melodies accompanied by instrumentals. John Hunguka, a member of the Harare Branch Office in Zimbabwe, revealed the highlights that characterized the kingdom work in Zimbabwe in the past year that ended in September 2015.
‘’More than 114 500 people attended the Memorial Service against the backdrop of an all- time high number of 45 000 publishers in 63 circuits. This is in fulfilment of Malachi3:10. There were 39 district conventions where 94 995 were in attendance and 1552 got baptised. 442 kingdom halls are found in the country and a further 115 are required to satisfy the needs of our brothers and sisters. However, owing to the rationalization process, there would be a reduction of 25% in our Bethel family,’’ John Hunguka said.
He said,’’ We are living in the last days and it is important to check on the spiritual side of our life and see how that helps in our relationship with God. The quality of our prayers count a lot. Do we appreciate what the creator, Jehovah, does for us? To illustrate, if you give your daughter a gift, you expect her to say, ‘thank you’ from the heart. Jehovah needs to be appreciated wholeheartedly,’’ John Ekrann said.
He stressed on meditation as a gateway to spiritual development. Reading the bible is not similar to reading a novel. One has to read and mediate on what one has read. By so doing, one is turning knowledge into wisdom; that is turning knowledge into practice. Deeds are more important than knowledge. In a world where materialism rules the roost, turning knowledge into wisdom makes Jehovah’s servants to make the right decisions in everything they do.

Communicating with Jehovah is fundamental. That requires heartfelt prayers to him. All Jehovah’s people must read the bible and meditate on what they have read.
Everyone has to talk about Jehovah in the field ministry. He likened that to a man who has wooed a woman and the two fall in love. The man will talk about the woman every time; therefore, it is incumbent upon Jehovah’s people to talk about him every time in their preaching work.
Jehovah’s people ought to associate with people who love Jehovah as Proverbs 13:20 says. There would be a circuit convention before the end of the year at Checheche and Jehovah’s Witnesses wait patiently for the spiritual food to come once again.
