“I have no doubt that as you join the formations as qualified sappers that you will effectively and efficiently discharge your duties.”
The graduands underwent a six-month long course that covered combat engineering subjects such as demolition, mine warfare, bridging, water supply, and road construction among others. Participants were drawn from various regiments of the ZNA.
“You should always bear in mind that training is the cornerstone of any formidable army. I urge you to shun the tendency by some soldiers to evade courses. Remember you train hard to fight easy,” he said.
He said the financial challenges facing the ZNA were a result of the illegal economic sanctions imposed on the country by Britain and its Western allies.
