Self – styled Kuwadzana prophet, Aleck Mushowane, allegedly raped and threatened a 14-year-old girl that she would turn deaf and dumb if she told anyone about the incident, the court heard.
The teenage girl revealed this in her evidence in chief when the trial commenced on Thursday before Harare regional magistrate, Mr Noel Mupeiwa.
The girl told the court that she was raped by the prophet.
It is the State’s case that Mushowane approached the complainant, who was standing at a gate with her friend.
He told them that he was a prophet who was willing to help the two spiritually to get good luck in life and then lured the girl to accompany him to a place before raping her.
