Gospel musician Alpha Ngonie successfully held a gospel concert dubbed The Back to Basics in Warren Park on Friday.

The three-hour event saw some exciting choreography by the audience and musicians alike.
It was a moment of non-stop fun as the musician belted out song after song.
Among the songs is the famous ‘Toimbira Mwari wekudenga’.
The fifth of its kind, the concert aims to preach the gospel with a blend of traditional hymns and a more contemporary touch through new compositions by the musician.
He said the concert is about bringing gospel lovers together.
“The Back to Basics concert was an answer to a growing call by gospel music lovers to have a show that could cater to both young and older music lovers.
“It was also a way to bring gospel music and salvation to the unsaved.
“It also brings a platform where younger and older musicians get a chance to meet and impact with fans,” he said.
Alpha was also thankful to the fans who attended.
“I want to thank everyone for taking their time out to attend the show.
“This has become our annual tradition and it’s good to see an increase in the number of attendees.
“I want to thank my spiritual parents; Bishop and Prophetess Phiri.
“I would also like to thank my biological parents for their support.
“And the biggest one goes to my fans and sponsors who made this show possible.
The goal is to improve with each concert that we hold.”
A fan who attended said:
“The show was amazing and we spent the whole concert dancing to the music.
“It helps us to have fun and bond with our families.”
