adminCOMMUNITY benefits is a charity scheme run in the SPAR stores. The scheme has a simple mission: to raise funds from our community for the communities in need. We appreciate the people in our communities and through the Community Benefit Scheme our aim is to ensure that we come together as a community with our customers in raising funds for those in need. Each store has a selection of 2-3 charities that they support, dependent on the size of the store.
In turn after every quarter the raised funds will be disbursed to each charity and SPAR will match what would have been raised in the CBS boxes. Community Benefit Boxes are set up at exit points of each store with the names of the Charity that they are supporting. Customers can donate any amount as every donation makes a huge difference.
SPAR Community Benefits supports three facets of need. These are Orphanages, Animal Shelter/preservation and environmentally related issues. Most of our environment initiatives will be working closely with school children in bringing awareness on the importance of waste management and helping to keep our country clean.
Our corporate social responsibility will not only be limited to raising funds only but we will ensure that all of our staff will also be involved in working with our communities.
Our initiatives will also see us spending time with the children at the orphanages offering some mentoring sessions and simply taking time for some play dates. It is our corporate social responsibility to give back to the community in gratitude to what they have done for us.
