The stage is set for the 8th edition of the Hurungwe Arts Festival (HAF), which celebrates culture, diversity and talent.
The festival, which will feature Mozambican music legend Isaú Meneses and Zambian theatre outfit HJ SAKALA Productions as its headline acts will take place from July 26 to July 28 at Chikangwe Hall in Karoi.
Isaú Meneses, a celebrated musician, singer, and songwriter, has defied all odds, including contracting blindness at the tender age of six, to become a music icon with 10 albums to his name.
His international performances have captivated audiences worldwide, and his appearance at the Hurungwe Arts Festival is set to be a highlight, showcasing his resilience and creativity.
HJ SAKALA Productions is set to stage their thought-provoking play ‘The Last Steps’ which will delve into themes of identity, culture, and social justice, offering a compelling and immersive experience for festival attendees.
Hurungwe Arts Festival director, Joel Zilala said this year’s festival will feature capacity-building workshops, art performances, exhibitions and spirited school drama competitions.
“The festival will host training workshops for performing artists and provide a platform for exhibitors to showcase their products,” he said.
“We are thrilled to have Isaú Meneses and HJ SAKALA Productions headlining our festival this year.
“Their performances will showcase the best of African talent and highlight the importance of artistic expression in promoting cultural understanding and exchange.”
