Courtauld Theatre
A STAR-STUDDED line up headline one of Mutare’s most consistent gospel artistes, Jairosi Mutambikwa’s DVD launch tonight (Friday).
Award-winning singer, Blessing Shumba; veteran wordsmith Hosiah Chipanga; Obert Chari of the ‘Mebo Mebo’ hit; rising gospel artiste Terrence Dzatsata; choral groups Vabvuwi Hilltop Choir, St James Choir and gospel diva Nomsa Mangame, among others, are all lined up to perform at the classy arts centre.
Business mogul and Big Rock Logistics director, Blessing Tendai Mangwiro, will be the guest of honor.
The event starts at 7pm.
Vumba Gateway Garden
Popular musician, Poptain is the main performer at the open air tourism resort situated in Vumba on Sunday.
The ‘Kokai’, ‘Fadza Mutengi’ and ‘Pfau Pfau’ hits maker will be supported by talented deejays Cesh, Stylez, Man G and Marvel.
The after party will be held at Bar Code later during the evening.
Club Mandisa
Local Dendera ensemble, Two Keys, led by Lamerk Mutero, performs at the joint tonight.
He is expected to belt out a blend of old and new songs as well as some songs originally done by Dendera proponents, the Chimbetu family.
Strip teasers from Harare and Bulawayo will also perform in the VIP section.
Chitsa Sports Bar
Fast rising afro jazz outfit Expression Band that is on the verge of releasing their maiden album entertain night lifers at the watering hole situated in Dangamvura tonight.
The band is popular for jamming own compositions and cover songs.
They start at 8pm till the last man drops.
One of Mutare’s oldest bands, Sunrise Band, will continue with the festivities on May Day.
Mi Casa
Old and new skool deejays, Frazer and Terminator provide entertainment on the turntables while ice cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be served today and tomorrow.
Steve Chikotie headlines the usual Sunday Jazz nights.
Imbibers enjoy the music while traditional foods from the rebranded Kapoto Restaurant is served.
Madziro Bar and Catering
Deejay Candyman will tomorrow entertain scores of fun lovers who are expected to throng the spacious and open air joint for one of the joint patron’s birthday.
Dubbed ‘Nyati @36’, the event will see other upcoming deejays taking turns of the turntables.
Situated along the Mutare-Masvingo Highway, the joint also offers a playing platform for children as jumping castles and face paint activities are available.
