Swift managers in court for fraud

FOR allegedly defrauding Swift Mutare Deport of $1 590, two managers were on Monday arraigned before the courts.

Innocent Goredema( 41), a territory accounts manager and Precious Marimbe(29), an operations manager denied the charges when they appeared before senior Mutare magistrate, Mrs Sekai Chiundura.

Representing the pair was Mr Farai Matinhure of Gonese and Ndlovu Legal Practitioners, while Mr Fletcher Karombe prosecuted.

The pair faced 10 counts of defrauding Swift Depot, Mutare $730 after they allegedly booked out some money for travelling subsistence allowances to different destinations and converted the money and fuel to their own uses. They denied all the charges. The pair was remanded out of custody on $50 bail to February 9.

Meanwhile, Goredema’s separate matter was adjourned to February 10 and Marimbe’s case was adjourned to February 8 for trial.
