THE WORLD CHAMPS ARE COMING THIS WEEK

Sports Reporter

IT’S not usual that the reigning world champions, in any particular sport, arrive in Zimbabwe for a battle against the locals.

But, that will be the case this week when the Chevrons take on the Proteas of South Africa in the first Test at Queens in Bulawayo.

The first Test starts on Saturday and the second Test will run from July 6.

The two teams met in a warm-up game in England earlier this month as the Zimbabweans gave their neighbours some practice time ahead of their World Test Championship match against Australia.

The Proteas beat the Aussies at Lord’s to become the new World Champions.

The Chevrons are already in Bulawayo and yesterday they were hard at work at Queens preparing for a battle against their neighbours.
