Three officials vie for posts in Byo pool elections

The elections will be held after the annual general meeting set for Raylton Club.
Kondo, according to sources, is going for the chairman’s position while Mahaso wants to take over the marketing and publicity office from Patrick Chinake.
Makudya is vying for the treasurer’s seat which is being held by Henry Chikandura.
“Most clubs have been having their caucuses and trying to identify the seats to contest.
“Kondo and the present vice-chairman Charles Mupadzi are likely to battle for the top position if Mupadzi decides to contest,” said the source.
The outgoing executive has Samson Bhuza (chairman), Mupadzi deputy chairman and Charles Dube secretary-general.
The other members are treasurer Chikandura, marketing and publicity secretary Chinake and fixtures secretary Desire Guruve.
Bhuza and Dube have indicated they are not seeking re-election.
“I have had my time and did my part in making sure that the sport grows. Now it’s time to hand over the baton to other members so that they bring in fresh ideas and take the sport to the next stage.
“Some of the members have said they will not be standing while others have availed themselves to make sure that there is continuity,” Bhuza said.
At least 600 voters on the BPL register are expected to vote at the weekend.
Meanwhile, after the elections, clubs will compete in an open tournament at Raylton.
