Toddler kidnapped

had fallen sick, an unknown woman disappeared with the child at Market Square in the city. Chikwanha had requested for assistance from the woman.
Harare provincial spokesperson Inspector Tedius Chibanda confirmed the incident.

“We received a report following the kidnapping of a one-year-ten-months-old baby boy who was kidnapped by an unknown woman who requested to help his mother to carry the toddler after she fell ill at Harare Central Hospital,” he said.

It is alleged that on June 25 Chikwanha went to Harare Hospital to collect medication for her baby. While at the hospital, Chikwanha started feeling dizzy and decided to sit down on a nearby bench where the woman was sitting.

The woman purported to stay in Chikwanha’s neighbourhood and offered to assist her, only to disappear with the baby.
Insp Chibanda appealed to members of the public who might know the whereabouts of the woman whom he said is dark in complexion, short and slim, to get in touch with the police at 703631 or 748836.
