CURIOSITY over what a military base looks like led to the arrest of a Buhera man. Cornelius Bvirindi (33) of Chatsvika Village under Chief Nyashanu allegedly scaled over the main gate at Zimbabwe National Army School of Logistics in Mutare and entered the prohibited property. Bvirindi pleaded guilty to entering a prohibited area when he appeared before senior Mutare magistrate Mrs Sekai Chiundura recently and was remanded in custody to yesterday (Thursday) since he has nowhere to stay in Mutare. The State, represented by Mr Cuthbert Bhosha, said on September 18, Bvirindi arrived in Mutare from Buhera and went straight to the Army School of Logistics where he entered without permission. “All I wanted was to see the inside of a military base and that is the reason why I came to Mutare.

I do not even have a place of residence in this city since my mission was to see how soldiers live,” said Bvirindi. Mrs Chiundura ordered prison officers to ensure that Bvirindi was examined by two medical doctors before his next court appearance since the court doubt ed his mental status.
