TONDERAI NDIRAYA saw his Glamour Boys fire blanks yet again and says the domestic Premiership has a scoring problem.
Dynamos last scored when they thrashed CAPS United in the Harare Derby.
“If you give me a striker who can score week in, week out, why not?
“But, the question now is do we have that striker at the moment?
“I think it’s a national problem if you ask me, we want someone who can score goals every week.
“Look at the top goal-scorers, (William) Manondo is not even a centre forward, so that really paints the whole picture about the country.
“But, if we get one we can afford, and who is willing to come and play for us, then why not go for that player.
“At the moment, this is the mid-season transfer window, which team would really want to sell their best player at the moment?
“But, if there’s a striker who is available, and one we can go for, why not?
“We still have some time but if the time comes for us to make those decisions, we will make them.”
CAPS United hitman, William Manondo, is leading the race for the Golden Boot.
He has scored 12 goals for the Green Machine.
Ndiraya said his team’s goalless draw against FC Platinum showed they can compete against the best in the league.
“From our end and if you consider where we are coming from we really wanted to recover,” he said.
“How we would recover, we would not mind if you ask me.
“And, we’ve recovered, that’s what’s important with us because from our side, there were lots of nerves.
“You can’t really be yourself, especially when you’re playing under pressure, you need a lot of courage from all the players to be able to really play the football that you want.
“But, sometimes, it’s difficult when you’re playing for a big team like ours to really get that courage and really do what you’re supposed to do.”
He added:
“Because, there is pressure that is associated with our team but the shift that the team put in today was not as flowing as I would want but, as a I coach, what’s important is the point we got today.
“The fact that we matched the team that is good shows that we are not a bad side.
“We are just going through some difficulties and a bad moment.
“We are not a bad side, we can match the champions,” he said.
