A Harare woman has approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her husband whom she accuses of forcing her to go for rituals.
Susan Ndhovu told magistrate Mrs Meenal Narotam that her husband, one Kambumura, has been insulting and assaulting her.
She said he calls her a prostitute.
Ndhovu said her husband assaults her with electricity cables and forces himself on her.
“Even when I am menstruating, he forces himself on me and if I refuse, he hits me or threatens to kick me out,” she said.
“He last hit me on Wednesday when I refused to go with him to a sangoma for some ritual to make sure that l will get caught if I cheat,” Ndholvu said
She asked the court to order her husband to stay away from her.
Kambumura was not in court to respond to the allegations.
Mrs Narotam ruled in Ndhlovu’s favour.
