Woman’ claims her life is in danger

A HARARE woman claims her life is in danger after she testified against a man who fatally struck a neighbour with an axe.

Maya Sibanda alleges Silvester Mopo has been tormenting her after she testified in court as a witness. She has approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a peace order.

Magistrate Sharon Mashavire presided over the matter.

“It was at night when I saw him striking a certain man with an axe and that man passed away upon admission at the hospital.

“He was then arrested and he was released, so he now comes to my house everyday threatening to kill me because I was a witness.

“He removed the roof of our house and now our property is being damaged by the rains. He comes every day with a lorry at midnight threatening to kidnap my kids,” she said.

Mopo was in default to answer and defend himself.

Magistrate Mashavire granted the peace order in Sibanda’s favour.
