Woman in court for ‘snatching’ sister’s husband

A HARARE woman has been dragged to court over allegations of snatching her sister’s husband.

The sister is reportedly bed-ridden.

Rudo Mandengu has approached the Harare Civil Court, on behalf of her bed-ridden mother, seeking a protection order against Netsai Johanna.

Netsai is being accused of having an affair with her brother-in-law, Clementine Mandengu, and has already moved into her  sister’s matrimonial bedroom.

Mandengu stood in as a witness and he was on Netsai’s side.

Rudo said: “My aunt is emotionally abusing my mother as she is mocking her that she is dirty and she is the one who is suitable to be my father’s wife. She cannot even take care of my mother at night as she will be in the bedroom with my father.”

She added: “She lies and has created hatred between me and my brothers.

“My mother made a wish that none of her relatives are not welcomed in her house but she forcibly came.”

In defence, Netsai said: “I have been taking care of my sister for almost two years now and the applicant never visited her mother and all she is saying are lies.

“I never abused them because the last-born in their family is a lawyer and he knows the law so he would have reported me long back.

“The only time I entered my sister’s bedroom, I wanted to take their dirty clothes, because I also help with house chores, I am not having an affair with my brother-in-law.

“Applicant is fighting with her brothers because of the property she is taking by force.” Magistrate Sharon Mashavire deferred the matter to Monday.

Both parties were ordered to bring witnesses.
