HERENTALS Under-20 coach, Paul Benza, scooped his second Coach of the Month accolade after completing the June fixtures unbeaten.
He had previously won the Anza Quip’s February award and, this time, it was M&J Consultants, who rewarded the gaffer.
The Young Students striker, Salif Cheya, also pocketed the Tempo Tyres Distributors Top Goal Scorer of the Month prize.
Global Tech sponsored the Goalkeeper of the Month accolade, which was won by Chegutu Pirates’s man-of-the-moment, Mahlenkosi Hove.
Hove, 26, has been one of the outstanding performers for Dzinza and, in their last three assignments, he conceded once.
He has managed nine clean sheets so far.
Hove hailed the club’s coach, Richard Chunga, for his courage, which has earned them the giant-killers tag.
“I’m very happy with the award, this is an achievement in my life because since I started playing football, I have never received such an honour.
“I want to give all the glory to the Almighty and also our coach, who has shown trust in me.
“Everyone knows that our club has been struggling financially for a long time but our coach is always motivating us to use this team as a bridge,” said Hove.
He added:
“This award has even challenged me to go beyond the limits.
“Our target is to finish in the top four, it might seem impossible considering the challenges at hand but we are going to try our level best.”
Chegutu Pirates are set for another tough test against Black Mambas at home this coming weekend.
Dzinza lost to Warumwa Warumwa 1-2 in the reverse fixture at Morris Sports Club.
